FDA: Love is Not a Package Ingredient
A Massachusetts bakery has been put on notice by the FDA for using the term "love" in its list of ingredients on its granola food packaging. Nashoba Brook Bakery in Concord, Massachusetts has listed love as an ingredient for years, tapping into what the bakery's CEO, John Gates, says is "cathartic...it makes it something that people can smile about." While his bakery will fully comply with the FDA and remove the "love" term from his bakery's labeling forward, he goes on to note that, "Love has been listed on the label from the beginning. We feel very strongly that love is a big part of what we do."
Well, while the term "love" will be removed, the positive attention that the bakery has been receiving through this small, but funny controversy bodes well for bakery sales.
